2023 Honda Odyssey review: Best gadget for kids (for better )

Pros: The "magic" middle row is great for parents with young children. Plush ride Honda's reputation for reliability

Cons: There is no cheaper base model; dreary to drive even for a minivan; There is no hybrid or all-wheel drive

The 2023 Honda Odyssey isn't so much a car as it is the ultimate piece of parenting equipment. Cute, cute, cartoon, cute, cute, cute, cute, cute design, cleverly designed designed to make parents' lives easier. The focus on kids and parents seems obvious for a minivan, yet nothing is more unabashedly centered around that goal than the Odyssey.

While the competitors try to hide their condition, Odyssey lets her truck flag fly. Inside inside inside inside inside inside inside inside inside inside inside square. The driving experience is similarly indifferent, with the chassis providing loose steering and cushioning (unlike previous Accord-like Odysseys). Feel yesterday with reflexes of the moment or treat your eyes to a dramatic dash.

Thus, they're not the only ones that guzzle power, but this is one thematic area where the Odyssey lags behind its competitors. The real search engine is in its V6 engine. For example, you will control the story of its financial returns

What's new for 2023?

The base LX model has been discontinued, making the EX the new base version, so the 2023 Odyssey's base price is much higher. The new Odyssey Sport also debuted. It basically takes the EX-L frame and adds a grille, black wheels and exterior trim, as well as red contrast stitching to the black leather interior. The interior ambient lighting is also red. The 2023 Odyssey is the first Honda to offer Honda Service, which provides scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.

What does the Odyssey's interior and interior technology look like?

If you've just tested a Kia Carnival, Chrysler Pacifica, or Toyota Sienna, the Odyssey's interior seems a bit boring. Material quality is acceptable, and there's no shame in Honda's ability to tie things together, but the aesthetic is pure functionality. All of its competitors have made strides toward cabins that feel less truck-like when behind the wheel—the Odyssey relies heavily on its fanbase.

And to that end, it's incredibly practical. There is a gusseted gutter between the front seats that allows you to stow your bag securely. There's a hidden drawer that can be divided to keep things from sliding out, as well as another container under the console roller door and a wireless charging pad on the highest trim levels. There are highly practical cup and bottle holders in both the console and the doors, while you'll find dedicated storage for your devices in the doors and seatbacks. Higher trim levels come with a built-in vacuum cleaner.

The touchscreen infotainment system located throughout but in the base is easy to see and reach, and is generally easy to use. We love the crisp graphics, intuitive menus, and configurable tiles that let you put functionality where you want it. However, we did experience some freezes when using standard Apple Car Play, especially when trying to use the car's native navigation system (which is also disappointingly minimal). We also generally like the interfaces of the Carnival and Pacifica, as well as the widescreen system available on the Sienna.

There are other surprisingly new and useful features available on the highest trim levels. This vacuum cleaner is located inside the car (now also offered by both Toyota and Chrysler). There's also Cabin Watch, which uses a wide-angle lens above the second row to let you see what's going on in each seat, including the rear-facing child seat (Pacifica offers something similar). It's paired with a Cabin Talk system that lets you project your voice through the rear speakers and/or the rear seat entertainment system's speakers (Sienna offers something similar to this). Not to be missed again.

How big is the Odyssey?

From the outside, the Odyssey is a local adaptation, and it is essentially a territory. Entries were expected to appear on an engineering scholarship. There are more sales in searches

Really, the difference between the trucks comes down to the functionality of the second row. There are all kinds of different concepts that cater to different owner needs and preferences. Sprinkle the Odyssey with the "Magic Slide" second-row seats. Smaller children return to a smaller space between the seat and the pillar for the third (reach) row. The seal that you use in the automotive industry

What is the economy in performance specs in the Odyssey?

Same Odyssey, same powertrain: A 3.5-liter V6 making 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque mated to a 10-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. Unlike the Sienna and Pacifica, Honda doesn't offer a hybrid all-wheel-drive option. It cruises close and gets 28 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined. The EPA says you'll spend $1,000 more on gas annually than you would with a Pacifica Hybrid.

How do you like the Odyssey to drive?

The Odyssey's steering is surprisingly center for the Honda and lacks precision. It required more attention and corrections when driving on a country highway than you'd prefer, and it doesn't instill as much confidence as, let's share. Odyssey was once described as such a big one. That's not the case with the new car, and we'd rather drive all of its competitors more.

Now, with that old caveat, the 2023 Odyssey is nonetheless very comfortable and quiet. You will be very relaxed and comfortable. The wide view and front end make the car easy to park, as is the loose steering. There is also no shortage of energy. Its 280 horsepower is more than enough for a turn, a pit stop, and for pulling into a road of limited visibility or merging with highway traffic. It seems like a very interesting thing to answer. The standard 10-speed automatic transmission aids a quiet driving condition. There are also plain paddle shifters, ignore them unless you're going for a steep charge or towing something behind you.

What is the price of Odyssey 2023?

The longest is $38,635 for a destination fee of $1,295. A treasure trove of cars and copies of the markets. Things start to settle down there, but we'll say the internal competition is high. As such, experienced Odyssey level owners.

What are the Odyssey's safety ratings and driver features?

Pre-position warning, emergency flight warning, emergency flight warning, cruise warning (including center lane guidance and stop-and-go capability).

The Odyssey received five out of five stars from NHTSA for all-around, frontal, and device crash protection. I have a first degree in insurance. Even special latch anchors.
